ACRL Washington State Chapter Position Description: Campus Liaison

The ACRL Washington State Chapter Board encourages each academic library in Washington State to designate a liaison to the ACRL Washington State chapter.

Any library worker may serve as a Campus Liaison. Campus Liaisons are encouraged to be members of the Washington State Chapter of ACRL.

Indefinite. Notify the Communications Manager when you would like to step down, and please recommend the name of another librarian at your library who is interested in serving as the Liaison on your campus.

1. Submit contributions periodically for the Regional News section of the spring and fall ACRL Washington newsletter when solicited by the Communications Manager. Appropriate submissions could include: personnel changes, grants received, workshops or conferences held or attended, new buildings, special events, awards and honors received or given, etc. Photographs are encouraged, along with captions. Also encourage library workers at your library to submit articles, book reviews, etc.

2. Notify librarians at your campus of upcoming ACRL Washington events.

3. Assist with the recruitment of new members by notifying the chapter of new employees. The campus liaison will forward the name, title and mailing of address of newly-hired librarians to a chapter Member at Large. The member at large will send a recruitment package to the new employee.

For more information, contact the Communications Manager.
